Week of 11 Jun — 17 Jun
1. What did you do this past week?
This was such a productive week though. I finished all assigned reading before the first class on Monday morning; did well on a midterm exam on Thursday; got closer to a good friend in our friendship; finalized my lasted resume with updated projects; started the first SWE project; and did many other errands.
2. What's in your way?
Technical issues have been beans under my mattress lately, either web services, in-store service, or setting my devices. However, dealing with those problems has been a good opportunity for me to get to know new people and different problem handling progresses which maybe also good experience for a software developer in general or this course in particular.
3. What will you do next week?
Being on track of my plan is the highest priority task in order to get work done timely and efficiently. Doing my best on the first SWE project, forming a SWE project team, resolving all technical issues, starting the second phase of the side project that I am working on with a good friend, and getting familiar with neccessary tools for this course are on the plan for upcoming week.
4. What's your experience of the class?
During the past week, I had a chance to get to know and learn how to use a new programming language, javascript. Moreover, we were shown in class how to use a unitest to perform a test framework which would tell us which tests were passed/failed; and techniques to handle exceptions in Python and Java programming. Also, in class we discussed how to approach a problem and optimize the solution, as well as how to look at and analyze a problem from different respects. This is the most important lesson I learned this week because it would make me challenge myself again and again to get better and better solutions or results which might be more than what I expected.
